What kind of photography do you do?

I’m a portrait photographer, so I do most of my work with families, couples, and folks with their pets (especially pets!). I work primarily with natural light using natural prompts and poses. My focus is creating a great experience for you in front of the camera in addition to a gallery of beautiful photos from our time together. 

I’m not a wedding, event, birth, head shot, or commercial photographer. I’m also not a videographer or video editor. I’ve done work in these areas in the past, but it’s not what I enjoy most—and loving what you do is essential for creating great art.

What is your style/approach?

I want people to feel comfortable and confident during their session. That's why I set up an introductory chat with all clients, to ensure we are on the same page about what you're looking for and answer any questions you have. My style is a combination of prompts and poses—we'll make sure you get the classic "smiling at the camera" pictures, but we'll also have fun and help you feel natural and like yourself—I want to capture who you are. After the shoot, I do colour-based editing and a small amount of retouching for a timeless, authentic look.

When will my photos be delivered?

Typically, galleries will be delivered within 4-6 weeks of the shoot date.

How long have you done photography?

I first picked up a camera in high school and began freelancing in 2012. I’ve dabbled in lots of areas of photography and art more generally, picking up and putting down different things over time. I ran my own photography business in the US before immigrating to Canada, and now I’ve picked up photography again after becoming a mom. 

Why don’t you have social media?

I strongly believe that your photos are for you. I love to feature client work on my website portfolio, but I want you to be in control of where your images appear on the internet. I know how important privacy is in the ever-growing world of algorithms, AI, and social media. And honestly, social media is exhausting for me. I’m much more interested in devoting my energy to the art of photography than the management of social media accounts.

Do you ever do shorter sessions for a discounted rate?

Yes! I host mini-sessions a couple of times a year. Sign up for my email list to get notified when mini-sessions are announced. I only send one email per quarter, so I promise not to overwhelm your inbox. 

Do you travel outside of Vancouver for sessions?

I may be able to travel within the Lower Mainland of BC for sessions. Send me a message and let’s chat!
